Plan the week before you shop

A budget is easier to manage when shopping starts with a real plan: the meals, the people eating, what is already at home, and what you still need to buy.

Before the shop

Compare the planned basket before you shop

Madklar combines ingredients across the planned meals, accounts for what you have at home, and estimates the basket across stores in Denmark. You can compare the results before choosing a store.

The plan comes before the price

Madklar starts with the meals your household will actually cook: who is home, which recipes fit, and which ingredients are already available. It then turns that plan into the shopping list. That order matters. A cheap list is not useful if it does not feed the people who will be there.

One ingredient, counted once

Dinner and packed-lunch recipes contribute to the same list. Shared ingredients are consolidated, and pantry items can be accounted for, so the list reflects what must be purchased rather than simply repeating every recipe.

Compare before you choose where to shop

Premium price estimates show roughly what the planned basket would cost across stores in Denmark. They are estimates rather than real-time shelf prices, but they give you better information when choosing a store.

Let the meal plan build the shopping list

Bring the ingredients into one list, avoid forgotten items, and compare the estimated basket before you shop.
